The Covid-19 is well and truly back. Tuesday, June 28, there were nearly 150,000 new positive cases in France. There is now no longer any doubt: we are facing a seventh wave which could well ruin the summer.

The critical threshold of 100,000 new daily cases had not been exceeded since April 21. The figure doubled in just 7 days. As of June 25, the national incidence rate was also 732 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

No region is spared by this new wave. And already, hospitalizations are also increasing, suggesting a dark summer…

Is it still possible to curb the infernal rise? Nothing is less sure. However, the government has issued new recommendations.

Tuesday, June 28, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne encouraged the French to wear the mask “in places of promiscuity” and “enclosed spaces”, in particular in public transport.

It also urges everyone to check that their vaccination schedule is up to date. The most fragile and people aged 60 and over “must benefit from the second booster dose”, specified the head of government. They should receive, as such, a new email in the coming days;

The return of the obligation to wear a mask, or even the vaccination pass, does not seem to be on the agenda. For the moment…
