Cooking pot: the cooking technique to save energy

Faced with the increase in the cost of energy, the French are keen to save money in order to get through this period of inflation without too much damage to family budgets. If families are committed to eating well, the expenses related to the house are substantial. The use of new simple techniques could become an additional aid without too many constraints for households.

Interviewed by Brut, Alizée and Yoann, two fervent users of the Cooking Pot, explain the interest of this cooking technique: “The objective of a Cooking Pot is to drastically reduce the use of energy for cooking. We know that it is one of the most energy-intensive poles in the house and the least efficient in terms of energy efficiency”

Indeed, a Norwegian pot is a kind of box that will allow you to cook your food by inertia. Anyone can practice this technique at home. It is even quite possible to make your own pot with a cardboard or wooden box or even with the help of a cooler. You will also need an insulating material such as cork, fabrics or a blanket.

On the other hand, it will be necessary to be patient, because cooking food in a Norwegian pot lasts from 2 to 6 hours.

To use the Norwegian pot, you will have to cook your dish over high heat, about 15 minutes, then immediately put it in the pot to lose as little heat as possible. Ideal for winter casseroles made with vegetables or meat.
