The artist Pierre Perret is an artist dear to the hearts of the French. The star marked a whole generation of fans with his titles Le Zizi, released in 1975, La Cage aux Oiseaux in 1987 or Lily in 1977.

If the artist can boast of having had a great musical career, the same goes for his love life. For nearly 60 years, Pierre Perret has shared the life of a certain Simone Mazaltarim, whom he married in 196 2 and whom he named Rébecca a few years later.

In an interview granted to Paris Match in 2017, the singer remembered this decisive meeting with his soul mate. “Rebecca was a secretary at Barclay when we met. It all started with a shouting match over a plane ticket refund. Then I invited her to one of my singing tours, at La Colombe , and she fell in love!”, he confided and added in the columns of Gala: “I will not be who I am without her. We are a fusional couple. (…) I have always been more and more demanding of myself, and Rebecca has always helped me to stay on track”.

A close-knit couple who nevertheless had to face several tragedies such as the disappearance of her daughter Anne, the twin of their son Alain. She died tragically at the age of 31. “It’s the worst thing that can happen in someone’s life and it’s always so omnipresent when something like that has happened, that you don’t want to talk about it”, had- he declared in 2013 in the show Fais-moi une place on France 5.

On June 7, 2021, singer Pierre Perret was the guest of Jordan de Luxe on his show L’instant de Luxe on Non Stop People. On this occasion, the artist revealed that he no longer speaks to his grandchildren. “I never talk about my family. First because they don’t like it and neither do I! They have their reasons and I respect. When you are the children or the grandchildren of well-known people, you are constantly pissed off because you are asked questions,” he explained.

This is not the first time that the artist has openly revealed that he has fallen out with his family. In an interview with Gala in 2019, he explained that he no longer had contact with them. “They are scattered all over the place, on the other side of the world, I don’t see them. They don’t give news. I don’t even know if I have great-grandchildren. It’s not from me. But you can’t force them. It’s not fun,” he said.

Invited to the show La Boîte à secret on France 3 on September 9, 2021, the singer returned to a drama that marked him deeply, that of the disappearance of his daughter at the age of 32. “It’s the worst thing that can happen in someone’s life and it’s always so ubiquitous when something like that has happened, that you don’t want to talk about it”, a- he asserted.

Guest On June 7, 2021 on the set of the show L’instant de Luxe on Non Stop People, Pierre Perret did not hesitate to openly tackle the government on the management of the health crisis vis-à-vis the intermittents du spectacle .

“The artists have suffered so much so far (…) The musicians, the technicians, all these people have not really been helped up to what had been promised to them and that makes me suffer a little part, because it annoys me. It hurt me a lot to see the way artists have been treated so far. There is somewhere a lack of education from the government. They should have been taught what it was a little more than life compared to maturity”, he declared and added to the attention of Roselyne Bachelot: “I think that she could not do much, that’s all, despite everything she tried to do. She might have been able to fight a little more”.

On April 14, 2023, singer Pierre Perret unveiled his new album entitled My old carcass. On this occasion, he confided in Franceinfo on his relationship with death. “I thought about it all my life, all the time,” he said.

This is not the first time that the star has broached this subject. In the show L’instant de Luxe on Non Stop People in 2021, he then said: “I get up, I touch myself and I say to myself: ‘pu****, are you still alive?!’ I was 15, I said to myself: ‘f**k you didn’t go under a train.’ I always thought about that, all the time! And that doesn’t mean that it makes you die”.
