BMO Field in Toronto has been named one of 15 host stadiums — the only one north of the border — for the CONCACAF Gold Cup matches, which will be played this summer.

This is only the second time that the most prestigious tournament of the continental confederation will pass in Canada. In 2015, BMO Field hosted a group stage doubleheader: a 0-0 draw between Canada and Jamaica’s 1-0 win over El Salvador in front of 16,674 spectators.

Canada, 47th in the world, is expected to play again at BMO Field, where the men’s team has not lost since a 2-0 loss to Peru in September 2010. The Maple Leaf has maintained a 15-0-6 record, scoring 54 goals from just six since.

The 17th edition of the Gold Cup will be played from June 24 to July 16 in 15 stadiums and 14 cities. It will be preceded by a qualification phase with 12 teams from June 16 to 20.

The final will be played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
