Columbus Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine will miss up to six weeks with a broken collarbone, the club said Friday.

He suffered the injury in Thursday’s 6-5 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs when defenseman William Lagesson tripped him in the second period.

The 25-year-old has already missed nine games this season due to a concussion.

This is the seventh injury Laine has suffered since the Jackets acquired him in January 2021.

In 18 games, Laine has just nine points, including six goals. However, he seemed to be on a better run, with five points (3-2) in his last six outings.

Laine played 480 NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets and Blue Jackets, scoring 204 goals and assisting in 184 more.

The Jackets next play Saturday, when they host the New Jersey Devils.
