The Colorado Avalanche traded forward Tomas Tatar to the Seattle Kraken on Friday for a fifth-round pick in the upcoming NHL draft.

The winger has one goal and nine points in 27 games this season.

Tatar signed a one-year, US$1.5 million contract in September.

Tatar had 20 goals and 48 points in 82 games last season with the New Jersey Devils.

The 33-year-old Slovak played 198 games with the Montreal Canadiens, collecting 57 goals and 149 points.

The Kraken also placed Jaden Schwartz on injured reserve, retroactive to November 28. Forward Shane Wright has been recalled from the farm club.
