(Berea) Cleveland Browns linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee, calling into question whether he will be here until the end of the season.

He has already been excluded from Sunday’s clash in Houston.

The team said Walker, one of its captains, underwent the procedure Thursday and his condition will be evaluated week by week. The Browns (9-5) have three games remaining and are fighting for a playoff spot.

Walker missed last week’s game against the Bears, days after being injured in practice. When he spoke to the media earlier this week, the 28-year-old footballer said he was making progress, not to mention the surgery.

The play-caller on defense for the Browns has 44 tackles and two fumble recoveries in 12 games.

The Browns will also be without defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo (pectoral) and safety Juan Thornhill (calf) on Sunday.
