(Cincinnati) The Cincinnati Reds took Harrison Bader off waivers Thursday, adding a fast center fielder to their roster for the final month of the season.

A Gold Glove winner with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2021, Bader is batting .240 with seven home runs, 37 RBIs and 17 stolen bases in 84 games with the New York Yankees this season. He struggled with oblique muscle and hamstring injuries during the campaign.

Bader will be eligible to play in the playoffs, if the Reds qualify. His contract expires at the end of the season.

The Yankees had acquired his services from the Cardinals on August 2, 2022 in exchange for left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery. He hit five home runs in nine playoff games with the Yankees.

His departure gives way to the recall of hopeful Jasson Dominguez to the Yankees.
