(CALGARY) Colorful golfer John Daly has confirmed his attendance at the Shaw Charity Classic, which will take place Aug. 14-20 in Calgary, tournament organizers announced Tuesday.

Daly, who won the PGA Championship in 1991 and the U.S. Open in 1995, will take part in the only Canadian stop on the Champions Tour, reserved for golfers aged 50 and over, for the third time in his career.

The 57-year-old American made his mark after driving halfway across the United States the day before Round 1 of the PGA Championship en route to victory in 1991, as a rookie aged 25 years.

The Charity Classic had already announced that the champion of the 2022 edition, Jerry Kelly, would be back to try to defend his title.

Kelly, a 56-year-old American, finished all three regulation rounds of the tournament tied for the lead at 9 under (201) last year before beating John Huston on the first overtime hole.

This year, the tournament will be held at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club in Calgary.
