(Ottawa) Tommy Condell has been named offensive coordinator of the Rouge et Noir, the Ottawa club announced Monday.

“We are delighted to welcome Tommy and his family to Ottawa. The search was exhaustive and Tommy’s name remained at the top of the list, said head coach Bob Dyce.

“We have been impressed with his track record of offensive production. He has also proven that he can win in the pros and highlight the strengths of his staff. » Condell spent four seasons as offensive coordinator for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, beginning in 2019.

In his first year in charge of the Ti-Cats offense, the club went 15-3 and reached the 107th Gray Cup.

The following season, he was also the quarterbacks coach for the Tiger-Cats.

Condell, 52, is originally from Utica, New York.

He joined the Argos as receivers coach in 2017 and won the Gray Cup that year.

He became the offensive coordinator of the Toronto team in 2018.

Condell first coached in the CFL in 1997, coordinating special teams for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
