(Montreal) Last Saturday’s loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps was not only hard on the ego, but also on the CF Montreal roster.
Head coach Hernan Losada confirmed Thursday morning that Quebec midfielder Samuel Piette will be out for six to eight weeks.
During the Montrealers’ 5-0 defeat in British Columbia, Piette was injured in the fourth minute of play when he wanted to regain his support. The team trainer then examined his left thigh.
During his media availability, Losada claimed it was not the same injury the captain suffered against Austin FC in early March that caused him to miss two games.
CF Montreal (1-4-0) return to action Saturday night by visiting the New England Revolution (4-1-1).
