Defender Gabriele Corbo has been transferred from Italian club FC Bologna to CF Montreal.
Corbo has agreed with the Montreal team on the terms of a two-year contract, with an option year in 2025.
It is a return to the metropolis for the 23-year-old Italian, who played with CFM last year when he arrived on loan from FC Bologna. He played in 14 regular season games, including 13 as a starter, and finished the campaign with an 85.9% passing percentage and 13 steals. Corbo also started in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League round of 16 and appeared in two Canadian Championship matches.
“We are very happy to be able to find Gabriele with us, but this time permanently,” CF Montreal vice-president and chief athletic officer Olivier Renard said in a statement.
