The actress Cécile de France returns this evening on France 2 in the dramatic comedy Remove me from a doubt with Guy Marchand and François Damiens. The 46-year-old star met with success in 2002 thanks to The Spanish Inn, the first film in director Cédric Klapisch’s trilogy. In 2003, she was awarded the César for best female hope for this first opus. A role dear to her heart as she had entrusted to Madame Figaro: “I am attached to my character which involves a great responsibility. This role marked the lesbian community”.

Three years later, it is again the consecration for the actress with the film The Russian Dolls. A feature film for which she won the César for best actress in a supporting role.

Throughout her career, Cécile de France has diversified her roles on the big screen. Thriller, dramatic comedy, documentary… The Belgian star is never confined to one genre. But what is it becoming today? In 2020, she joined the cast of the mini-series The New Pope alongside Jude Law, John Malkovich or Silvio Orlando.

On the big screen, she has shot in several feature films since the beginning of 2021: The French Dispatch, Lost Illusions and In her lifetime. In 2022, fans of the actress will find her in a Franco-Belgian film called Les Jeunes Amants in which she will star Fanny Ardant, Melvil Poupaud and Florence Loiret Caille.
