The Formula Kite Spain Series will contest its second race of the calendar to 2020 in waters of Castellón. It will be the 17th to the 19th of the next month of July on the coast of the playa del Gurugú, very close to the Grao. The test will be organized in conjunction with the Club Deportivo Eolo Castellón.
this will be the third time that the circuit of Kitefoil most important of Spain is disputed in waters of this club after the visit of the circuit in 2018 and 2019.
the intent of The FKSS is to help revive the sport and the local economy, both slowed by the pandemic of the Covid-19. This factor and the total layout of the CD Eolo Castellón after the call of the FKSS have made it possible that you can carry forward which will be the second race of the calendar 2020 of the competition most important in Spain of Kitefoil. In Castellon there will be three categories: Pro, Open, and the F-one Formula Kite Amateur.
Sergio W Smit, director-general of the FKSS, very much appreciated the date on which is held the test to be the following week which will be held the premiere of 2020 of the series in the swamp of Alarcon, from 10 to 12 July. is “we Think we have given a rapid and adequate response to the will of the sailors back to the water as soon as possible, always within the safety limits that we set forth by the authorities. Smit would like to thank the Club Deportivo Eolo Castellón her quick willingness to collaborate in the organization of the spot: “As always, Castellón has responded in an incredible way. Despite the urgency of time, we have the confidence that everything will be perfect as much Wind as we have three years of experience with this circuit and we know what to do. In addition, the club facilities are of the best in Europe for the practice of Kite and that has given us the confidence to enable this event to little more than a month of its celebration”.
it Is expected a great participation of sailors, both Spanish as foreign as when chaining the two races, Alarcón and Castellón, it makes sporting much more cost-effective in the displacement of the ‘kiters’. Smit points to an influx of poor foreign sailors: “we Think that will come the French, English, Portuguese, poles, and russians, among others, and that some of the best of Europe will be in the two races, so we’re going to have a fleet of great quality that will add to the best Spanish class” .
For his part, David Armengot, president of Club Deportivo Eolo Castellón, explains: “We are very optimistic with the organization of the regatta. What we have done other years, and it has gone very well. Our goal from the club is to encourage the maximum of the foil between the people. We have one of the best locations of the coast of valencia and Spain. We have decided to organize the test with little time because everything that is to promote our sports, we’re happy to help you. Having the experience of the previous editions and that the people know us, time is plenty. We offer as a club conditions as in a few places with a beach very wide, with installations to foot beach for the installation of the equipment and locker rooms for the sailors. In the end, great amenities, and the sailors each time they come they want to return. Those who do kite in our club can navigate almost daily. The wind is secured to them with the thermal breeze. I believe that to make a row Alarcón and Castellón will encourage people to come throughout the week to train in our waters which will help to revive the economy of the area” .
