(St. Louis) Chair Bloom was hired Monday as an advisor to John Mozeliak, the president of baseball operations for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Bloom was fired by the Boston Red Sox in September.

Bloom was stationed in Boston when the Red Sox reached the AL Championship Series in 2021.

“I have known Chaim for a long time and I believe this is an excellent opportunity for the Cardinals,” Mozeliak said in a press release.

“It will be good to get an outside perspective on our team, from someone as respected as Chaim. Having a fresh look at all aspects of our baseball operations should be helpful. »

Aged 40, Chaim made his debut in the majors with the San Diego Padres.

“I am excited to join the Cardinals and be a part of this great team,” he said in a statement. Mo and his team have made me feel very welcome, and I look forward to building relationships here. I want to learn and contribute in order to help us win. »
