(New York) Montreal Canadiens forward Nick Suzuki was relieved of US$2,500 by the NHL for a cross-check at the head of Anton Lundell of the Florida Panthers.
The NHL’s Department of Player Safety announced the penalty Friday morning.
The incident occurred late in the third period of the game won 9-5 by the Panthers on Thursday. During an argument near the Panthers bench, Suzuki hit Lundell in the head giving him a cross-check.
Referees reviewed the sequence and Suzuki was assessed a major and a game misconduct.
The Canadian will take over on Saturday when he visits the Tampa Bay Lightning.
