(Moncton) The Canadian Hockey League announced Friday that the Moncton Wildcats will host the 2024 Kubota Prospects Game at Center Avenir.

The game will take place on January 24 and will feature the top eligible prospects from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, OHL and Western Junior League in preparation for the 2024 National Hockey League.

This will be the 28th edition of this game, which will also be presented for the first time in New Brunswick.

Since its reintroduction as the CHL Prospects Game in 1996, the event has hosted 15 players who have gone on to be selected first overall in the NHL Draft.

The list includes Alexis Lafrenière (2020), Nico Hischier (2017), Connor McDavid (2015), Aaron Ekblad (2014) and Nathan MacKinnon (2013).
