On comedian Kevin Hart’s Hart to Heat show, the actress spoke about her reasons for taking early retirement. “There were so many parts of my life that I didn’t take care of, that I couldn’t manage,” she said, saying that she loved her acting job: “It’s fun to do, I love it. I love to play” and qualify: “I really wanted to be able to manage my life”. A desire to move away from film sets that she justified by explaining that she wanted to devote herself to her family. In January 2020, Cameron Diaz, who is married to musician Benji Madden, announced on Instagram that she had become the mother of a daughter named Raddix.

“It’s the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done in my life,” she said in the same interview and added, “Having a family, being married and a family. It’s just the best thing there is (…) Would I make a film again one day? I’m not looking to make one… but would I? I don’t know. I have no idea. maybe never say never but I can’t imagine myself as a mother of a one-year-old and being on a movie set 14 or 16 hours a day away from my daughter.”
