“But what a stupid life”: Michel Drucker drops an anecdote about Johnny Hallyday

Between Michel Drucker and entertainment, it’s a long love story. After 60 years of career, the host is one of the popular faces of the PAF with the French. From television to radio, he continues to be in the news after overcoming his health problems in recent years.

On this occasion, Michel Drucker was invited by Faustine Bollaert in It starts today, broadcast this Wednesday, December 7 on France 2. The opportunity for the historic host of Vivement Dimanche to look back on his incredible journey since his debut. “In fact, I never thought I would have such a long career, obviously,” says the octogenarian before confessing. “And then my anxiety was to age well”.

Watching the images broadcast on the giant screen on set, the famous presenter keeps an observant eye on his career. “When I see myself here, there, me 50 years younger, with my little suit, and me today, I said to myself: ‘I didn’t do too badly’. But it’s work,’ he said, taking as an example. “When I’m told in the street: ‘Say, you don’t look your age, you have 80 brooms? Oh no, you look a little less'”.

The secret to Michel Drucker’s morning routine? “This morning, I did 1h30 of sport”, says this cycling and rowing enthusiast, before joking in detail. “I have always rowed in this profession, but now I row every day. I do abs, I row”. Faced with the host of France 2, the heavyweight of the PAF also reveals a funny anecdote with Johnny Hallyday.

“At the end of my shows, Johnny always came to remove his makeup. He told me like that”, before imitating him. “How come we don’t look quite the same? Me, I’m not quite young yet, I’m not exactly young anymore. And you, you’re not quite old”. And, in turn, the husband of Dany Saval responded to his great friend. “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I play sports, I’m very careful, I watch, I swim, I cycle, I’ve had the same wife for 50 years.”

An irreproachable lifestyle that surprised the late rocker who died in December 2017. “But what a stupid life”, he would have swung with humor to his friend. “It’s this stupid life that makes me still here today, I think,” admits Michel Drucker. A testimony which in particular made Internet users react, in front of this extract, on social networks.

“He’s right Drucker”, “He’s the best of all”, reacted the fans. For others less enthusiastic, “Pretentious this Mr. Drucker… imbued with his person!”, “He knows EVERYONE, it’s unbearable!”. Regardless of the criticism, the time of retirement does not seem to be on the agenda for the star of France Télévisions.
