(Buffalo) Jeff Skinner, one of the Buffalo Sabres’ top scorers, will be sidelined indefinitely with an upper body injury.

The team made the announcement Thursday, a few hours before its duel against the Ottawa Senators in the evening.

The Sabers have not provided any details regarding the nature of Skinner’s injury or when he was injured. They said the attacker would be evaluated from week to week.

Skinner scored his 17th goal of the campaign, along with an assist, in 24 appearances on the ice in a 5-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday.

Skinner is coming off back-to-back 30-goal campaigns and ranks second on the Sabers with 33 points in 38 games this season.
