Watch out for the gaffe in Fort Boyard. For more than 30 years, France 2’s flagship program hosted in turn by Patrice Laffont, Jean-Pierre Castaldi and the historic Olivier Minne has hosted several teams of celebrities who have come to steal Father Fourras’ treasure every summer. To achieve this, the candidates have the task of winning a specific number of keys to continue the adventure in search of precious clues that allow them to find a code word to access the treasure room, guarded by Félindra and her tigers.

However, while some excel in their agility, sportsmanship and team spirit on the show, others shone with their carelessness. If there is one thing not to forget in Fort Boyard, it is above all the key. Sometimes in the heat of the moment (or rather the pressure of a challenge), some stars lose their heads to the point of not taking the sesame when they come out of an event… isn’t it Bruno Guillon?

This Saturday, July 9, in the second issue of Fort Boyard, TV host Bruno Guillon was responsible for leading his team to victory for UNICEF. A regular on the show on France 2 (with 11 participations to his credit, tied with his partner Élodie Gossuin), he had to win the challenge of La Caserne by moving on a treadmill. The test of catching buckets of water suspended from the ceiling to fill the tank that releases the key. After a first defeat in this event in 2014, the pressure was on his shoulders to succeed in the mission.

After a few minutes (and many falls), Bruno Guillon managed to release the key that allowed him to open the cell door (thus avoiding prison). As he comes out breathless to the point of not being able to speak, host Olivier Minne congratulated him on his performance by asking him to give the key. “Huh?! It’s on the door. I opened the door with it,” exclaims the TV and radio host.

Realizing his dumpling, the fifty-year-old unfortunately lost the key and could not recover it in the cell. “No, but not all that for that. But I opened the door!”, Facing the host, a bit teasing. “And yes, but you had to take the key”. And, the disappointed candidate to exclaim. “Oh no, what a sucker!”. A terrible mistake that made fans of the program laugh on the web. “Bruno Guillon who forgets the key, the c * n”, laughs a surfer while another wonders. “And so Bruno Guillon left a key on the door but he does not offer to sacrifice to recover the key which is missing precisely because of him”.

At Fort Boyard, you are never safe from a bad surprise and as Olivier Minne said: “It happened to the greatest”. Like chef Philippe Etchebest who will return to try his luck on the Fort on Saturday July 16 on France 2. Last year, bad luck did not give the charismatic candidate a gift.

After a physically difficult ordeal in the flooded metro, Philippe Etchebest manages to release the key at the end of the course before rising to the surface to find his comrades. It was then that host Olivier Minne asked him. “Where’s the key?” Again, the team leader quickly realized his mistake. “Stop your bullshit…”, he exclaimed, realizing that he left the sesame on the lock without having brought it back.

But, the prize for the most beautiful blunder goes without hesitation to Thierry Olive, the flagship farmer of L’amour est dans le pré on M6. In 2015, the ex-candidate participated in the show where he had to pass a free throw test in basketball in Fort Boyard. After three successful tries, Annie’s husband emerges victorious from the challenge.

In the general euphoria where Thierry is celebrated as a hero by his team, the host Olivier Minne asks him to hand over the key to Passe-Partout. “But I don’t have the key myself”, exclaimed the famous farmer sheepishly. A cult moment that remains today in the history of the game Fort Boyard.
