It is without fanfare that BMW has decided to withdraw its 2 Series Gran Coupe from the Canadian market. The information, first reported by the Motor Illustrated website, was confirmed to us by BMW Canada.

The departure of the entry-level compact sedan offered since 2020 illustrates the erosion of market share for sedans in favor of SUVs. The model, based on a front-drive platform shared with Mini, was also the entryway to the Bavarian marque with a starting bill of $38,990 (not including ancillary costs).

So it falls to the BMW X1 to serve as the entry-level model, which is quite a bit more expensive ($45,952). The 2 Series will also continue to be represented by the rear-drive coupé of the same name.
