He is the new star of French fiction. Julie de Bona has become one of the familiar faces of the small screen. Almost 20 years of career during which the actress has played in notable series such as A wonderful family, The Secret of Elise, The Bazaar of Charity or Learning to love you.

Among her outstanding roles, we note in particular that of Sophie Serrano in the fiction They have exchanged my child, also broadcast on TF1 in 2018. Inspired by a true story, Julie de Bona plays a mother whose baby has been exchanged at birth, raising another infant like her own in several years.

An unusual scenario that sadly echoes the life of the 40-year-old actress. Born on December 7, 1980 in Paris from a computer scientist father and a seamstress mother, Julie de Bona lived this same experience as she told during an interview with our colleagues from LCI. “The story of Sophie Serrano echoes my own story because my mother had the same experience as her: when I was born she was given another baby,” she says. “But the drama was avoided because my mother realized it right away since I had kept my bracelet, unlike that of Sophie Serrano’s daughter who had fallen and we had exchanged”.

A narrowly avoided accident which also marked the father of the actress. “My father also made a scene in the hospital, he still talks about it!”, She remembers. “At the time, when Sophie Serrano expressed her doubts, she was rebuffed. She therefore immediately loved the child that was put in her arms”.

Following this misadventure, Julie de Bona grew up in Montpellier with her parents and her younger sister Olivia. A modest family linked by Italian and Vietnamese origins. A nice mix that has long marked the actress, as evidenced by her interview with Paris Match in 2016.

“It’s a bit of the great drama of my life by the way! As a child, I was blonde with blue eyes… in my family, it was experienced as a miracle of genetics. There was a real fascination!” , she assured. Indeed, his maternal grandmother fell under the spell of a military doctor, met in Vietnam during the Indochina war. “My grandmother left everything for love and came to settle in the south of France. They had six mixed-race children, including my mother”, explains the actress of the film Made in China.

If the career of Julie de Bona is in good shape (from television to cinema, via the theater), the actress is fulfilled in her private life. “I am very simple and very natural. I have my friends, I love nature so I have my little country house which I am renovating and I go to see my friends the cows, I am very happy. I make a fire fireplace and I am the happiest in the world”, admitted the actress to Télé Loisirs.

In a relationship with her companion, whose anonymity she wishes to preserve, the actress is also the mother of a little boy born on August 13, 2018. In an interview with Télé-Loisirs in May 2021, the actress confided in her three year old boy. “I am very protective. But I take care not to suffocate or brood over my child. I love that he is autonomous, that others can also take care of him. The goal of education is still his learn to fend for yourself,” she said.

Regarding her husband, Julie de Bona had made a rare confidence about her relationship with our colleagues from Télé Star. “I love him with little lies, those to avoid hurting. But if we go into big lies, that we betray or lie about ourselves, it’s no longer love”, she had explained.
