(Orchard Park) The Buffalo Bills signed running back Latavius Murray to a one-year contract on Monday, adding depth to their backfield.

Murray, 33, has nine seasons of NFL experience and had 760 rushing yards and six touchdowns last season with the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints. He is the leader among active players with eight straight seasons in which he has scored at least four rushing touchdowns.

Murray’s arrival will add a more physical dimension to the Bills’ ground game. The running back group already included James Cook, Nyheim Hines and Damien Harris. Devin Singletary left the team in March through the free agent market.

Murray will be on his sixth team in the NFL. He rushed for 6,252 yards in his career and had 55 rushing majors. He also caught 222 passes for 1,501 yards and two touchdowns.
