The long-awaited return of the franchise. As reported by the American site Deadline, Eddie Murphy, an essential star since the 1980s, has returned to the film sets. 29 years after the release of the last movie Beverly Hills Cop 3, the sequel will hit Netflix next year.

A fourth film titled Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley and directed by a certain Mark Molloy. The first three opuses had won worldwide success. The first Beverly Hills Flic, released in 1984, had almost three million admissions in France, winning a total of no less than $316 million internationally. The following two films also recorded around 2 million cinema admissions in France, with a box office receipt of around 320 million dollars worldwide.

For comedian Eddie Murphy, the success of the saga has allowed him to rise to the rank of international star. A role that was initially intended for Sylvester Stallone before he was dismissed in favor of Eddie Murphy, as revealed by producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

“We had a good script (…) We sent it to Eddie Murphy and Paramount said, ‘No, we want Stallone’ (…) He reads the script and says, ‘Good script, but I have to. rewrite’.
