(Melbourne) Coco Gauff, world No.4 and winner of the 2023 US Open, went to the second round of the Australian Open in exactly one hour at the expense of Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (68th) 6-3, 6- 0 Monday.
From 4-3 in the first set, Gauff did not allow any more games to Schmiedlova and lined up eight in a row.
