Are you one of the 41% of French women and men who believe in the explanation of characters by astrological signs? According to an Ifop study on parasciences carried out in December 2020, this figure has been constantly rising since the beginning of the 2000s. Among the other beliefs surveyed are the lines of the hand (29%), bewitchments and the witchcraft (28%), clairvoyance (26%), numerology (26%) and cartomancy (23%).
Astrology therefore remains the parascience most popular with the French population. This belief is based on the idea that the position of the stars at the time of your birth would have an influence not only on your personality, but also on your destiny or your relationships with others. Thus, some astrological signs tend to be kinder, more faithful or more lazy than others…

*Survey conducted with a sample of 1,006 people, representative of the French population aged 18 and over. The representativeness of the sample was ensured by the quota method (sex, age, profession of the person questioned) after stratification by region and category of agglomeration. The interviews were carried out by self-administered online questionnaire from November 10 to 12, 2020.
