For several hours, the intimate life of the new British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, has been under the spotlight. After the resignation of Liz Truss, he will have to face many political and economic challenges. Since 2009, he shares his life with an Indian businesswoman and fashion designer named Akshata Murty.

The latter is not unknown, far from it. She is the daughter of a man named Narayana Murthy who is the founder of the Indian IT company called Infosys, created in 1981. He is ranked fifth Indian fortune. As Le Télégramme recalled, she owns shares in the company worth nearly a billion dollars. The total value of the company is estimated at $100 billion. A personal fortune which is well above that of the former sovereign Elizabeth II which was estimated at 350 million pounds, or 420 million euros.

As recalled by BFM TV, the couple owns four properties: three homes in England and a penthouse in California for an amount of 5.5 million pounds. It is in a pretty five-bedroom house located in London that the couple and their two daughters live on a daily basis. A luxurious property that would be worth no less than 7 million pounds.

Former Conservative Party leader Rishi Sunak and his wife had come under heavy criticism. Being considered by the English tax authorities as a person “not domiciled” in the United Kingdom, Akshata Murty’s income was not taxable. After this controversy, she finally announced that her foreign income would be taxed in England. “To dirty my wife to reach me, it’s awful”, had affirmed her husband in the columns of The Sun.
