Account statement: 6 tips to check it effectively

It is a habit that is being lost more and more. However, checking your account statements is a reflex that is important to keep. This allows you to know the amount that you can save or spend while maintaining your balance at a suitable level.

For the most difficult months, this habit also allows you to keep an eye on the status of your account and therefore avoid payment incidents or a debit balance. In addition, errors can sometimes slip into the amounts in each of the transactions. By correctly pointing out its reading, these can be identified and therefore reported.

But, to do your account statements properly, it is practical to be in possession of all your receipts. But these are on the verge of disappearing.

“In application of law n°2020-105 of February 10, 2020 relating to the fight against waste and the circular economy, receipts will no longer be automatically printed by the merchant from April 1, 2023.”, explains the utility’s website.

Indeed, from this date, it will be necessary to make an explicit request to merchants to obtain a paper ticket. If systematic printing is abolished, the trader is however not entitled to refuse to do so if the customer requests it.

These tickets can be particularly useful for making your account statement. Discover in our slideshow the 6 tips to check it correctly and not miss anything.
