Plan B continues its international breakthrough. The Quebec series will be the subject of a fifth adaptation, this time in Germany.

Filming since April in Berlin, this new version is intended for public broadcaster ZDF. The Germans are adapting the second season of the sci-fi drama written by Jean-François Asselin and Jacques Drolet, in which a popular radio host (played in Quebec by Sophie Lorain) goes back in time to prevent her daughter from committing irreparable harm. Actresses Katja Riemann and Hannah Schiller will play the mother-daughter tandem.

Plan B will land in Germany after being adapted in France (TF1) and twice in Belgium (STREAMZ). Last winter, CBC also aired an English-Canadian version featuring Patrick J. Adams and Karine Vanasse.

German channel ZDF had never acquired a Quebec series before Plan B. AromaTV’s Barbara Vallant, who closed the deal for KOTV, the Montreal production house behind the show, hopes to “set a precedent.”

“We are extremely proud to see the Plan B anthology continue to shine internationally,” said Louis-Philippe Drolet, Managing Director and Partner at KOTV, in a statement. Its success lies in the ability to deal with universal themes, rich and human stories that reach all audiences. »

In Quebec, a fifth season of Plan B is currently under construction at Radio-Canada.
