(London) Rock’n’roll legend Elvis Presley will make his return to the stage at the end of 2024 in London in the form of a hologram in an immersive show created using artificial intelligence, its creators announced on Thursday .

In “Elvis Evolution”, the “King” will play his biggest hits such as Suspicious Minds, Jailhouse Rock or Hound Dog on stage in the form of an avatar created using thousands of concert videos or images shot in the privacy by those close to the Memphis singer.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, they made it possible to develop an “incredibly authentic version of Elvis,” said Andrew McGuinness, CEO of the company Layered Reality behind the project.

This British company has mentioned a “multi-million pound agreement” with Authentic Brands Group, which manages the rights to the heritage of the late “King”, to have access to these archives and organize performances around the world.

The first shows will take place in November 2024 in the British capital before other shows currently planned in Las Vegas, Berlin and Tokyo.

Before Elvis, the company Pophouse Entertainment had already developed a show in London by the Swedish disco group ABBA, where the quartet is represented by digital avatars.

Building on its success, the show was extended and the Swedish company announced the launch of a new show with the avatars of musicians from the American glam-metal group Kiss.

The legacy of Elvis, at the height of his glory between the 1950s and 1970s, still lives on. Decades after his death, the global rock icon, who would have turned 89 this year, was the subject of a recent biopic, Elvis, directed by Baz Luhrmann (2022).

A film by Sofia Coppola based on the book by his wife Priscilla Presley, Priscilla, until now remained in the rocker’s shadow, is currently in theaters in certain countries.
