OASIS Immersion announced Tuesday the creation of an exhibition called Nature vive, designed in collaboration with The National Geographic. This route, inspired by the COP15 agreement on biodiversity, signed in Montreal last year, will be presented on February 22.

Exactly one year ago, nearly 200 participants at the UN COP15 on biodiversity reached an ambitious agreement whose main objective was to protect 30% of the planet’s terrestrial and marine areas by 2030. he agreement also provided for an investment of 200 billion per year linked to biodiversity.

Inspired by this agreement, OASIS Immersion has created an immersive experience thanks to the participation of organizations such as the Suzuki Foundation and the Age of Union environmental alliance.

“There must be government policies, but the population must also be informed, get involved and act to achieve these objectives,” indicated the co-founder of OASIS, Denys Lavigne. This project aims to raise awareness among the population in an original way about biodiversity issues. It is an experience that is intended to be emotional and informative. »

During COP15, OASIS Immersion also designed a short exhibition of around fifteen minutes with The National Geographic, One World, One Chance, which was seen by around 7,000 participants at the UN conference. It was the success of this teaser that convinced the OASIS team to embark on a larger-scale project.

Sam Greffe-Bélanger led the creative team, which brought together around fifty people to create the three parts that make up the immersive exhibition projected at 360 degrees. A project that got underway barely five months ago.

“It’s incredible to have the chance to be invited to the table to think and express ourselves on such an important subject and to work alongside partners who bring grist to the mill like I have rarely seen,” he said. he confided. The immersive allows us to approach the subject through emotion. The anecdotal creates common places to create moments where we all come together. »

The exhibition will be divided into three tables, 20 to 30 minutes each. The first, A World in Regeneration, was directed by Katherine Giguère and Johnny Ranger.

“We designed an immersive journey where we find the magic of what surrounds us, a look of wonder,” explains Katherine Giguère. The human is not present, on the other hand, even if he watches. We are in the cycle of a day, everywhere in the world, in all ecosystems, thanks to images from National Geographic. »

The second painting, We are dreamlike, was created by the Frenchman Alex Le Guillou.

“He uses digital art to show the interconnections in the microscope of matter,” explains Sam Greffe. It is the concept of the butterfly’s wings beating to show that the smallest gesture has an influence on the rest of the chain, it is a visual poem, and undoubtedly the most abstract painting in the exhibition, but also the most emotional. There will be mapping on the walls and floor. »

Finally, the third painting, Let us rise in the face of challenges, was created by Émile Roy, which concludes the journey.

“We integrated special effects which were done by Japanese artists Rich

A context of COP15 and the major biodiversity issues will be presented before the start of the journey, so that you are well informed. The message from the creators – like the participants at this international UN conference – is that it is possible to prosper with nature. Without destroying it.
