(Arlington) José Abreu hit a long three-run ball after Yordan Alvarez’s sacrifice fly to break the tie, and the Houston Astros won 10-3 over the Texas Rangers to tie the game 2- 2 in the American League Championship Series.

The Astros, who led 3-0 in the first inning after just four batters, responded well to the Rangers’ threat when Corey Seager hit a tying home run in the third.

Adolis García also hit a long ball for the Rangers, who have lost two straight at home after starting the playoffs by winning their first seven games, including six on the road.

Jose Altuve had three hits and scored three runs in his 100th career playoff game. Alvarez drove in three runs, bringing his RBI total to 13 in the current playoffs. Chas McCormick added two points with his long ball.

Ryne Stanek got the win with just one pitch, on a groundout double play against Mitch Garver in the bottom of the third inning.

Seager became the first shortstop to hit a home run in the National and American Championship Series. In the third inning, Seager hit a 401-foot long ball to left center.

Astros starting pitcher José Urquidy then gave up two straight singles and was replaced by Stanek.

Alvarez and Abreu are the first teammates in playoff history with at least four home runs and 10 RBIs in the team’s first eight games.

Rangers left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery, who pitched for 6 1/3 innings in the Rangers’ 2-0 Game 1 win, and three-time Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander, who gave up both runs in six innings of work, will be on the mound for the fifth game, played Friday.
