(Paris) The automobile manufacturer Stellantis announced on Wednesday a vast renewal of its range of utility vehicles, a commercial “offensive” intended to take the place of world number one in this sector from its competitor Ford.

Stellantis, one of the heavyweights in the utility market with the American manufacturer, sold 1.6 million pickup trucks and vans in 2022 under its Citroën, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, Ram and Vauxhall brands, for a figure of 60 billion euro business.

Light utility vehicles (LCVs), particularly used for the transport of goods or as construction site vehicles in construction, represent “30% of the group’s net revenues”, underlined Jean-Philippe Imparato, head of this branch at Stellantis. .

The manufacturer, born from the merger of PSA and Fiat-Chrysler, has set itself the objectives for 2030 of “doubling the net turnover of utility vehicles by 2030 compared to 2021, reaching 40% of sales of electric vehicles (BEV) and generate a turnover of 5 billion euros for services,” it is stated in a press release.

As part of its “offensive”, the European market leader will present “a new range of utility vehicles for each brand”, i.e. “twelve vehicles” launched in total, according to Mr. Imparato.

This range will benefit from “second generation zero-emission engines, a unique hydrogen solution, full connectivity and cutting-edge autonomous driving assistance systems”, it is indicated in the press release.

“New impetus” will also be given “to the product range in North America via the launch of several electric LCVs and vans,” explains Stellantis.
