Boxing | Christian Mbilli confronted Rohan Murdock on January 13

(Montreal) Super middleweight boxer Christian Mbilli will face Australian Rohan Murdock in the semi-final of the gala featuring unified WBC, WBO and IBF light heavyweight world champion Artur Beterbiev against British challenger Callum Smith on Jan. 13 at the Videotron Center, Eye of the Tiger Management announced Tuesday morning.

Mbilli (25-0, 21 KOs) will put his WBC Continental of the Americas and WBA International titles on the line for the occasion against Murdock (27-2, 19 KOs), the no. 9 under the IBF.

“Rohan Murdock is a quality opponent, who has a completely different style from my last opponents,” Mbilli said in a statement.

Murdock, the current IBF Australasian title holder, has already crossed swords with Zach Parker in a world championship fight.

The full undercard involving the EOTTM boxers will be revealed in the coming weeks.
