(New York) New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor underwent surgery to remove bone chips from his right elbow, the team announced Wednesday.

He is expected to be back in time for the team’s spring training camp in mid-February.

The Mets said head team physician Dr. David Altchek performed the surgery Tuesday in New York.

Lindor, who turns 30 next month, hit .254 with 31 homers and 98 RBIs in his third campaign with the Mets.

The latter finished fourth in the Eastern section of the National League with a record of 75-87.
