(Toronto) Michel Pagliaro and twelve other notable Canadian rockers from the 1970s and 1980s will be inducted Thursday evening on Canada’s Walk of Fame in Toronto.

Glass Tiger, Loverboy, April Wine, Chilliwack and Max Webster are among the bands who will be honored at Toronto’s Massey Hall in a “mega-induction ceremony.”

They will be joined by Platinum Blonde, Parachute Club, Rough Trade, Prism, Trooper and Lighthouse, as well as solo rock singer Lee Aaron.

All the artists will be present for the event, which will include performances of their greatest hits.

Fashion presenter Jeanne Beker and radio and television personality Terry David Mulligan, formerly the creator and face of the Much West series on MuchMusic, will host the evening.

Michel Pagliaro, 74, began his musical career in the 1960s, but he really found success starting in the 1970s.

Among his best-known songs, we find The Spy, The Bombs and of course, J’oreille Coup. For the latter song, “Pag,” as some call it, was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2010.

In 2016, he received the François Cousineau prize for song music from the Foundation of the Professional Society of Authors and Composers of Quebec.

The rock artist inductions are part of a larger program to mark the 25th anniversary of the Walk of Fame.

The music-themed party will be followed by the annual induction ceremony scheduled for December 2. Hockey star Connor McDavid and comedian Rick Mercer will be among those honored.
