Star quarterback Joe Burrow signed a five-year, $275 million contract extension, including $219.01 million guaranteed, with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The information was reported by ESPN informant Adam Schefter on Thursday. This agreement makes Burrow the highest paid player in NFL history.
Last season, Burrow led the Bengals to their second straight AFC North title with a 12-4 record.
The new Bengals season will begin on September 10 against the Browns in Cleveland.
