After making a lot of headlines last spring raising a slew of questions about the use of artificial intelligence in the music industry, Drake and The Weeknd’s “fake” song is once again making headlines. Its mysterious creator, who calls himself Ghostwriter, submitted the piece for consideration at the Grammy Awards.

According to The New York Times, Heart on My Sleeve, this artificial intelligence-generated fake collaboration between The Weeknd and Drake, was nominated in two categories: best rap song and song of the year.

According to a representative of Ghostwriter quoted by the American daily, the piece would be eligible for these awards since it is a song written and recorded by humans although artificial intelligence was used during its creation.

Remember that Drake and The Weeknd did not agree to this project.

Ghostwriter has also just released a new piece using the same process once again. Named Whiplash, it artificially brings together Travis Scott and 21 Savage.
