A350 maintenance | Air France and Airbus want to form a joint venture

(Paris) Air France and Airbus have entered into exclusive negotiations to create a joint venture for the maintenance of A350 long-haul parts, the two partners announced in a joint statement on Monday.

“The envisaged cooperation would take the form of a 50-50 joint venture between Air France and Airbus”, announced the European aircraft manufacturer and the airline group Air France-KLM, which has a subsidiary specializing in maintenance (Air France Industries KLM Engineering

They are targeting an operational joint venture in the first half of 2024, after authorization by the competent authorities, which are monitoring competition in particular.

Air France and Airbus thus hope to be able to offer an “optimized” commercial offer to meet the growing demand for maintenance of the A350 fleet, which has some 550 aircraft currently in service and more than 1,000 on order.
