The 15th ProAm Gagné-Bergeron raised some $500,000, which will be donated to foundations in the Quebec City region working with sick or underprivileged children. More than 10,500 spectators turned out for the event. During the presentation of the players, the crowd was particularly generous towards Jonathan Marchessault, a native of Cap-Rouge, who has just won the Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights. Unsurprisingly, it was Patrice Bergeron who received the loudest applause. He received a nearly two-minute standing ovation that left him speechless. “I didn’t really know how to react,” he said late in the evening. I didn’t expect that at all. I feel a lot of gratitude to everyone who has helped me during my career, and the people of Quebec are at the top of the list. Thanks should be given to me rather than received! »
