(Los Angeles) American rapper Cardi B will not be prosecuted for throwing her microphone at her audience during a concert, Las Vegas police confirmed Thursday, announcing the closing of the investigation.

The police announced on Monday the opening of a procedure for assault and battery, after the handrail of a woman saying she had attended this concert which had gone viral on social networks.

The videos of the event, organized a few days earlier, show Cardi B throwing her microphone in the direction of a spectator who had just thrown the contents of her cup on stage.

In the footage, the person who threw the liquid apologizes as concert security intervenes. Other videos appear to show the WAP and Money performer missing his target and the mic landing on another audience member.

“This case has been dismissed due to insufficient evidence,” police said in a statement Thursday. “No prosecution will be brought in connection with this matter. »

This is not the first time that an artist has been the target of objects being thrown on stage. Lately, incidents have multiplied during concerts.

In June, a man threw a phone at singer Bebe Rexha during a concert in New York, which landed the singer in the hospital.

That same month, singer Pink was targeted during a performance in London by an onlooker who threw a bag at her believed to contain her mother’s ashes.

Last year, Harry Styles interrupted his concert in New York, after being targeted by a chicken nugget from the crowd.

In December, Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose pledged to stop throwing his microphone into the audience at the end of a concert after a fan was injured in Australia.
