And the dice thrown. Now, at this stage, another question arises: “what advantages will leavers retain?”

Once gone, the ex-ministers will not be left with nothing. They will be able to continue to receive an allowance for three months, equivalent to the salary they received in the government. Or, in detail, 9940 euros gross per month for a minister and 9443 euros for a secretary of state, develops the Dépêche du Midi.

But there are still conditions, as the newspaper Le Figaro reminds us in an article on the subject. This indemnity is paid only if the Minister does not immediately resume a remunerated activity. Another major point: the ministers and secretaries of state no longer enjoy the material advantages they had in government. No more vehicles with drivers or free access to rail transport… Only ex-regal ministers (Interior, Foreign Affairs, Justice, Defence) can be granted police protection by the Ministry of the Interior for security reasons.
