Holidays: 6 sites to do good business

It’s summer. Many have already booked their holidays, others will soon be looking for their summer resting place. Conversely, some cannot afford to go on vacation. The reasons are many: constant inflation, the price of fuel or the increase in the price of holidays. Suffice to say that even if they are supposed to be a deserved and essential rest, they are not within everyone’s reach and become a source of stress due to expenses.

Summer holidays remain the most popular with the French. The opportunity for many to get a change of scenery by going to spend a few days at the sea, in the mountains or in the countryside. This year, 60% of them have planned to leave, against 63% last year, according to a CSA survey, relayed by BFMTV. But it would seem that the French eager to take a vacation are ready to spend more. The average budget devoted to this summer break is up 23% compared to last year, and reached 1,986 euros, compared to 1,614 euros in 2022.

For this summer period of 2023, many French people have been flexible on their vacation dates, in the hope of lowering an already higher than normal rating. Indeed, some have decided to leave in July rather than August or even to start on Wednesday rather than Saturday. Others have taken it upon themselves to book their vacations earlier so they can get better rates.

Daily expenses, meanwhile, have largely fallen to feed the holiday coffers. Thus, half of the French would abandon the purchase of clothes and other products to save for their holidays. According to Capital, it would even be “four out of ten French people who would cut corners on dining out and a third who would limit leisure”.

Discover in our slideshow below, which are the 6 sites that can save you a lot of money as your summer holidays approach.
