Line Renaud: who will inherit her home in La Jonchère?

For nearly 70 years, the magazine leader and actress Line Renaud has spent quiet days in her home in La Jonchère located in the heights of the wealthy town of Rueil-Malmaison in the Paris region. A property that she bought with her husband Loulou Gasté, who died in January 1995. “Loulou said that one day it would be Neuilly here”, she explained to our colleagues from Parisian in 2018.

In the center of his sumptuous property stands a lush garden in which a cedar of Lebanon more than ten meters has grown. “It’s the first tree we planted, offered by Michel Audiard in 1952”, she said and continued: “We baptized it with champagne, we didn’t think it would grow. I can’t cut it, it’s my little corner of America”.

In the heart of his home, several objects and souvenir photos are stored there, including a photograph of his mother Simone, his grandmother Marguerite and his great-grandmother Marie, nicknamed “Mémère”. “My life lessons, I took them from them. Grandma, her life was Zola, I asked her to tell me, I received something to build myself”, she remembered during her interview.

A home filled with good memories that the 94-year-old star has a “secret dream” of bequeathing to a celebrity dear to her heart. This is the comedian Dany Boon whom she considers to be her son. “I never spoke to him about it!”, she declared to Paris Match. For many years, Line Renaud and Dany Boon have forged strong ties. “My son. Dany is the son I would have liked to have. I see him with his mother as he is, I am the substitute… Sometimes she calls me to find out if I have heard from Dany”, she confided to the Parisian in 2022.

Although Line Renaud secretly dreams of bequeathing it to her “son”, she has nevertheless taken precautions as to the fate of her home. “The endowment fund may have to sell La Jonchère (…) I would like to know the people who will live there after me (…) It may be that I look before ‘leaving’, in organizing a sort of life annuity, to find out who will live there”, reports the Journal des femmes.
