On June 8, 2023, the tax filing campaign ended. Depending on your department, you had to meet a different deadline. Indeed, the inhabitants of zone 1 (departments 01 to 19) had until May 25 to validate the pre-filled declaration. For residents of zone 2 (departments 20 to 54), you could complete your form until June 1st. Finally, people residing in departments between 55 and 976 had until June 8 to send the declaration. Discover in our slideshow below the schedule of the next steps.

But if you still haven’t corrected and/or validated your declaration, you risk receiving penalties. Indeed, according to the Public Service website, “if you declare your income late, you will have to pay penalties, an increase in your taxes and possibly interest on arrears”. If you declare your income late, your tax will be increased by 10%, 20% if filed within 30 days of the formal notice or 40% if the declaration has not been filed within 30 days. However, you can still modify your file until June 28th. This will not allow you to escape penalties. But when will you receive your tax notice?

The tax authorities are now checking your tax return. It will start calculating the income tax amount for each household. However, this sum takes into account those already deducted at source in 2022 or the deductions made. So you might have an amount to pay in the fall, but also have nothing to pay. You may also receive a refund.

Depending on your situation, you will receive your tax notice on a different date. Nevertheless, most of you should access it between July 26th and August 4th on your online space. If you have chosen to receive it in paper version, you will be able to retrieve this notice from July 24. To know all the dates, discover the calendar of tax notices, established by the website of the Ministry of the Economy, in our slideshow below.
