Soprano Elisabeth St-Gelais wins the Prix d’Europe

Soprano Elisabeth St-Gelais won the 111th edition of the Prix d’Europe Competition, which was held at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal from June 4 to 10. The prize comes with a sum of $50,000 to allow him to continue his studies outside Quebec.

In all, 33 candidates competed to win this prestigious award.

The Académie de musique du Québec has organized the Prix d’Europe since 1911 with the aim of promoting the artistic development of Quebec musicians, aged 18 to 30. Among the winners of previous editions are notably Wilfrid Pelletier, Raymond Daveluy and Charles Richard-Hamelin.
