Should we fear a long shortage like this fall? The tanks of the service stations are emptied little by little in many departments, where more than 60% of the establishments are out of stock, sometimes total. The strike movement against the pension reform continues in France this Thursday, March 23, the day after the television interview with Emmanuel Macron, during which the president remained straight in his boots.

According to figures put forward by franceinfo, Wednesday March 22, 17.9% of service stations in France showed a shortage of at least one fuel and 8.8% of them were already out of stock. In some departments*, the situation is already much more worrying, because the shortages affect at least half of the establishments, as you can discover below this article.

Will the situation return to normal in the next few days? Should we expect new restrictions, such as those that have been put in place in certain territories? Everything will depend on the situation in refineries and oil depots. Indeed, many of these establishments continue to be blocked, in particular in Gonfreville-L’Orcher (Seine-Maritime), Feyzin (Rhône) and Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône). Quoted by franceinfo, Emmanuel Lépine – secretary general of the National Federation of Chemical Industries of the CGT – said that “the fuel shortage will intensify”.
