Shiffrin relegated the competition far to win the overall World Cup for the 5th time (after 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022) with 2,206 points, the second best total of all time behind Slovenian Tina Maze’s record (2414 points in 2013).
The American, victorious in the small slalom and giant globes, was also crowned giant world champion in February in Méribel, in addition to two silver medals (super-G and slalom).
By the way, she became on Sunday the most successful skier in the history of the world circuit in giant (21 successes), ahead of the Swiss Vreni Schneider (20).
Back at the top after a few less easy years, she seems limitless and could amass a unique record in the years to come.
