On January 25, 2022, Florent Pagny announced to his fans that he had inoperable lung cancer. The interpreter of Knowing how to love explained that he was forced to cancel all of his concerts in order to be able to start “a six-month protocol of chemotherapy and X-rays”.

A few days later, it was on the set of TF1’s JT, that the juror of The Voice had given his news. “I am very well” he had first assured Gilles Bouleau. And to explain: “I have a problem that ticks the wrong box at the beginning but after all the other boxes are good. I discovered it very early. I have had it for three to six months. I have only “only one tumour. I have no metastases, I have nothing in other organs. (…) We cannot operate because it is dividing very quickly and risks spreading but today’ today, there are really good treatments.”
“When it’s taken from the start and it’s very isolated, I only see the good side of things,” he said, looking serene. Since then, several of his artist friends have given reassuring news about Florent Pagny’s health. Recently, it was Anggun who mentioned the one she considers to be her mentor. “When I started, he held out his hand to me, we made a duo and he never changed towards me,” she said in an interview with Nice-Matin. And to add: “I take news of his health regularly. He is in good spirits and he is really carried by the love of the French.”
At the end of May, Nour, the winner of the last season of The Voice, made revelations about her coach on the show. “He’s a little tired. I was a little apprehensive to see him again without hair or a beard… But he’s in good shape, he’s smiling. Even if it’s difficult, he shows his courage and that’s something that fascinates me home,” she explained to Closer.
Despite the disease and his chemotherapy sessions, Florent Pagny had fought to continue to coach his talents every week on TF1. Tuesday, May 10, after a long absence on social networks, he spoke. “I’m fine,” he reassured his fans. “I changed my look a bit, since it’s the treatment that wants it,” he joked, referring to his bald head.

“The protocol worked rather well since from the first two chemo-immunotherapy, my tumor which was as big as a kiwi turned into a nut. Immediately behind, we sent heavy with radiotherapy and intensive chemo. We trust,” he added. Before meeting his fans: “If all goes well, we’ll meet again next year to finish everything I started. It’ll be called the 61 tour!”.
